We have been here twice following operations. My wife, Ida, has had the best care, with positive results! We have found Landmark the best, for care, and PT! Thankful for a great staff!

Had surgery this morning to reconstruct the ACL and address some tears in the meniscus. I didn’t sleep at all last night, anxiously awaiting what was to come — surgery with Dr. Ray and anesthesiologist Dr. West (I think?). Within minutes of arriving, RNs Heather and Diane began to prep me. Their kindness and caring and overall bedside manner made me feel comfortable and at ease. They were both great, certainly good at what they do medically, but — more importantly, they treated me as a “person” and not just a patient! The same is said of RN Mel, who took care of me post-op. She too is a wonderful asset, a competent and caring professional! Thanks to all the staff — named above and those behind the scenes — I’m grateful for you all!!!

My family would like to say thank you to the staff at Landmark Hospital. I cannot say enough good things about how great this hospital was to my mother. She felt like they were her extended family during her 7 weeks stay here. My mother’s situation was unusual in regard to her symptoms and ultimately the official diagnosis. She required an extremely high level of supplied oxygen and the other hospital she was at was pushing her out. Landmark provided an environment that allowed my mother the time to relax during the last days of her life. She no longer had to worry that she was on an insurance time clock with an expiration date. The entire Landmark staff was remarkable and truly cared about my mother. We definitely made the right decision transferring her there. Thank you.

From the minute I checked in, the staff was remarkable. From the CNA who took me under her wing and walked me through the stages of getting off the ventilator and having the tracheostomy removed to all of the respiratory therapists that kept me alive and looking forward to the future – I thank them all. The nurses were kind, compassionate and treated me and my wife with respect, kindness and friendliness. In my opinion, the entire staff at this hospital from housekeeping, kitchen, doctors, nurses, physician assistants, patient care techs, respiratory therapist, and rehab therapists were all A+ and would return (heaven forbid!) and recommend to my family and friends. There is not enough space on this paper to express our gratitude to each and every one – we love you all.

My stay at Landmark was a long one – six weeks! We live in the Fort Myers area, but I chose to come to Landmark in SW Florida because I had heard such good things about it. I was not disappointed! The hospital is very new, and the staff was amazing! From the doctors down to housekeeping, I was treated with respect. The nursing staff is top notch. They were all great at taking care of me. I would recommend this hospital to anyone who needs care!

Landmark is a great place to recover. The staff there are so kind, caring, helpful, professional, friendly. If I ever had to be in the hospital that will always be my first choice. God Bless them all. From the doctor to the staff, I thank you.

  • SHANA S.
My name is Shana and I am 52 years old and was diagnosed with metastatic ovarian cancer in February of 2016. I had surgery at a local hospital. For my incision to heal, I needed to have TPN (nutrients delivered through a vein when patients are not able to eat by mouth) to give my body the nutrients it needed to help my wound heal. I also needed a wound vac (a pressurized machine used on complex wounds) to help with the healing. The local hospital did all they could for me and it was time for me to move on. I live in southern Utah with my family, about 4-5 hours away from the local hospital and there were no facilities in the southern part of the state to help with the continued TPN and wound vac. I was a little anxious and stressed because I did not feel ready to go home with the problems I still had. This is when they told me about Landmark Hospital, which was an answer to prayer for me. When I came to Landmark, I was only able to take ice chips by mouth the first two weeks; it did not matter if it was in the middle of the night or at shift change, they made sure I had ice chips, medication or whatever else I needed to make me comfortable and were more than willing to help. The doctors, nurses and staff take time to get to know you and they kept me on the road to healing. I improved daily and became more independent. My experience at Landmark was very positive and rewarding. I am thankful for this facility and all of those who keep it going. I went home much readier to pick up where I left off. My only wish is there could be more places like this to help patients like myself. Landmark Hospital has been a blessing to me and I will never forget the staff. I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone – my experience was the best!

I would highly recommend Landmark Hospital of Joplin to anyone! Everyone there went above and beyond to help, they were very patient and kind to me and my family. The staff is tenacious in their goal to make you want to get well! A few special impressions…Sara in Speech Therapy – she taught me how to read my Bible again. Hannah knew I liked to chew on ice and she made sure I always had enough of it. Bobbie always made sure I walked. Sam made sure I did my exercises. Chris treated me so well. Tara treated me well too – she gave me my shots and I didn’t even feel them! Haley gave me Coke and ice cream because she knew I liked that. Kristi set my wife up to spend the night next to my bed when I was scared to be alone. Cheryl in occupational therapy was a very good teacher. So many others…Tracy, Teresa, CJ, Stephanie (RT), Scott, Brian (RT), Bill, Sam…everyone was great the entire time. “The leadership at Landmark of Joplin is top-notch and it trickles down. They have a great staff and are doing a wonderful job.”
