Landmark Hospital of Athens, LLC Accepts First Patient

Construction was completed in Athens, Georgia on the 42-bed Landmark Hospital of Athens, LLC in June 2008. The facility passed state inspection on July 14th, admitted its first patient on July 15th, and passed its Medicare survey on July 21, 2008.

In March 2006, a new health care facility opened in Cape Girardeau called Landmark Hospital, a 30-bed medical center providing long-term acute care.

Last week, Dr. William Kapp of Cape Girardeau and Michael Norman of Jacksonville, Fla., the partners who started Landmark, won regulatory approval to build their fourth facility, and third in Missouri. Read More >

Landmark Receives Approval for Missouri Certificate of Need Application

On October 3, 2007, the Missouri Health Facilities Review Committee approved the Certificate of Need application of Landmark Holdings, LLC to establish a new 42-bed long-term acute care hospital in Columbia, MO. Landmark expects to invest approximately $9 million to construct this, its fourth facility, and construction is expected to begin in early spring 2008. Landmark Hospital of Columbia, LLC will serve a 13-county area and has the support of several healthcare providers in the region.

Landmark Receives Approval for Georgia Certificate of Need Application

In June, the Georgia Department of Community Health issued a Certificate of Need to Landmark Holdings. Landmark will begin construction on its third facility in Athens, Georgia at a cost of $9.9 million on August 1, 2007. Construction of that 42-bed facility is expected to take approximately one year, with plans to open for operations and accept its first patient sometime in the summer of 2008. Landmarkís CON application was supported by Athensí two existing facilities, St. Maryís Health Care System and Athens Regional Medical Center.

Landmark Hospital of Cape Girardeau Receives Joint Commission Accreditation

December 21, 2006

Landmark Hospital of Cape Girardeau recently completed the second step in the two-step process for accreditation of new healthcare facilities. The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations completed its survey in May, granting accreditation effective December 21, 2006. In granting Landmarkís accreditation, the Joint Commission cited no deficiencies.
