Landmark Hospital of Joplin, MO, was licensed by the State of Missouri on May 14, 2007. The facility was initially Medicare-certified on May 30, 2007. On December 1, 2007, after successfully completing a 6-month Medicare length-of-stay demonstration period, Landmark Hospital of Joplin was re-certified by Medicare as a Long-Term (Acute) Care Hospital.

The twenty-six thousand square foot facility, housing 30 private patient rooms, is located 2040 W. 32nd St. Joplin, MO 64804. Landmark Hospital of Joplin, LLC, is a joint venture between Landmark Holdings of Missouri, LLC, and the two acute care hospitals in Joplin, Freeman and St. John's. The facility focuses on providing quality patient outcomes in addition to providing the best customer service. Our staff strives to create a compassionate environment where exceptional quality is the primary goal. Patients and their families are considered customers and friends. We value the experiences of each person who enters our hospital, as each brings his or her own degree of stress from a life altering situation. This means "taking care of everyone - the family members as well as the patients."

Landmark Hospital of Joplin serves as a regional referral center for critically ill patients in Southwest Missouri, Northwest Arkansas, Northeast Oklahoma, and Southeast Kansas. Patients are brought to Landmark Hospital of Joplin from as far away as Kansas City, St. Louis, Columbia, and Tulsa. Many of these patients are ventilator dependant and are sent to our hospital for vent weaning. The Medical Staff of experienced Pulmonologists and Hospitalists are backed up by many other consultant physicians to provide our patients with specialty care that has resulted in very good wean rates and patient outcomes. Many of our patients are discharged home or to rehab hospitals for further care. The typical patient at Landmark Hospital of Joplin stays 25-30 days.

Landmark Hospital of Joplin is scheduled to be surveyed by The Joint Commission in July 2010. The facility has already proven itself to be a quality healthcare provider through state surveys and successful patient outcomes. The outstanding reputation of the facility is recognized in the regional area it serves.

The future of Landmark Hospital of Joplin is very positive. As the patient volumes continue to grow, the facility can be expanded by another twelve private patient rooms. The working relationship the facility has with its referring hospitals is strong and the partnerships developed will continue to make a positive difference for critically ill patients in its primary and secondary service areas.
