Completed in 2015, our uniquely designed three-level curved building also serves as our corporate headquarters and is home to the Advanced Joint Treatment Institute. It features the Synexis™ Biodefense Systems’ patented dry hydrogen peroxide whole-building continuous environmental disinfection system.

Jim WhitacreJames Whitacre

With an MBA in Hospital Management from Auburn University, Jim Whitacre brings more than 20 years of leadership experience to Landmark Hospital of Southwest Florida. Whitacre began his career in hospital administration at Columbia Regional Medical Center in Montgomery, AL. He then spent several years as an independent health care consultant for healthcare companies in Georgia, Tennessee and South Carolina.

In 2006 Whitacre returned to the corporate world as director of planning and market analysis at Lee Health. The next few years saw him serving in leadership positions at various facilities in North Carolina, Florida and Indiana, where he most recently was CEO of AMG Specialty Hospital of Central Indiana.


Sharon BrunoSharon Bruno, RN

Sharon Bruno brings a wealth of knowledge and over 20 years of experience to Landmark Hospital of Southwest Florida. Throughout her career, Bruno served in a variety of clinical roles and hands-on leadership positions for highly regarded institutions such as The Cleveland Clinic and Physicians Regional Healthcare System. She has expertise in critical care nursing, medical-surgical nursing, healthcare management, healthcare operations, quality improvement and patient safety.

Bruno has been recognized with numerous awards; including the esteemed Excellence Award from the American Heart Association, which recognizes four of the best nurses in Southwest Florida.
